Happy New Year folks! I hope that everyone enjoyed a happy holiday season and that 2013 is off to a great start. This year started with a big bang for me as I received the news that Kelsey’s Essentials has officially been picked up for its 5th season! Five seasons!!! I can’t believe it! I swear that we were just getting ready to film the pilot and now we’re approaching our 65th episode of programming.
Whenever I get the news of a pick up, it’s a very exciting time. I start making lists of show concepts and ideas, recipes I can’t get out of my head, and ways that I think the show could improve from the last go around. I pull out and read magazines, scour food blogs, and most importantly start talking to friends and family that are foodies to find out what they’re interested in and what they’re talking about.
I would love more than anything to hear from you and what it is that you would like to see in an upcoming season! Anything you’ve got, send it my way. I can’t thank you enough for the relentless support that I’ve received over the years. If it weren’t for the viewers, readers, and fans that support me, this dream job would not exist. From the bottom of my heart, thank you. Cheers to season 5 and a happy and successful year!

Hi Kelsey! I have been a huge fan of yours since next food network star! Thank you for your wonderful recipes. I am anxiously awaiting the premier of your cookbook!! In your next season, I would love to see some gluten free recipes. My husband has celiac disease and I’m always looking for new GF recipes that we can both enjoy.
Congratulations on all of your success and on your sweet boy. I’m a NICU nurse and I can’t imagine how thrilled you are to be enjoying him at home.
Thanks again for the great recipes!
Allie Dooley
That is a great idea, Allie! Thanks for the suggestion! And thank you for your support (since the beginning!) Can’t wait for you to get your hands on my cookbook.
Congratulations, Kelsey! I absolutely love your show and can’t wait to see some new episodes. Good luck with the new season!
Congrats, Kelsey! I’m a huge fan and I love your show! I would LOVE to see a whole episode about fried food – doughnuts and the works!
This is genius! Fried foods are a huge guilty pleasure of mine. Thanks Riley!
Congratulations on another season! I enjoy watching your show. I love to cook and I work full time. Sometimes I don’t get out of the kitchen until 9pm after working all day. I’d really like to learn more quality make ahead meals so I feel like I am getting a great meal but saves me to to make during 9-5the work week.
Thanks!
I love your show and I can’t wait for the new episodes to start! I am a busy mom to two little boys and would like to see more meals that I can make ahead and freeze.
Thanks!
I’ve gotten a lot of comments regarding freezer meals. Good to know! Thanks for watching!
I would love to watch Kelsey bake more pies, cakes, etc. Also tex-mex and southwest vegetarian entrees would be very helpful. What could she do with a rotisserie chicken from the supermarket for a head start? Teach me to make homemade cinnamon rolls, too! Is this alot to ask?
thanks!
Great suggestions! Thanks Anne!
Congratulations on your little boy! I have Celiac Disease. I am always experimenting with various ingredients to make foods which normally contain Gluten, and making them gluten free while still maintaining a lot of flavor. I am always in need new Gluten free recipes to add to my menu. Seeing some if your ideas about cooking for a Gluten free diet would be fantastic.
I have gotten a lot of requests for gluten-free ideas so this is definitely something I will keep in mind!
I absolutely love your show!
What about another one on casseroles (breakfast, lunch and dinner) in segments.
or
all things strawberry, blueberry, etc (as different fruits are in season)
or
A total episode on cupcakes…very in right now
or
Freezer meals
Thanks Kelsey for your excellent and energetic personality!
Love your show. It just feels so modern and simple. I love trying new recipes and live in my kitchen as much a possible, but even so, there were things that continued to intimidate me… Like making my own pasta noodles. No longer! You’ve inspired me to branch out EVEN MORE. Thank you!
I’d love to see an episode on sushi making and essential crab rangoon and chow mein recipes as well.
Any chance you could help me out?
I sure hope they pick you up! I love your show! Loved you on The Next Food Network Star and love your show on The Cooking Channel now. I LOVE any kind of soup recipes, it is on of my favorite things to eat and make!
Congratulations on your 5th season!
Hi Kelsey! I LOVE your show! When will your new episodes be airing?
Hi Kelsey,
I enjoy watching your show but today you made me cringe. You said, “I made this for Robbie and I…”. You should have said Robbie and ME. The rule is: When in doubt, take the other person out. Example: I made this for ME or I made this for MYSELF–I made this for Robbie and ME or I made this Robbie and MYSELF. I’m not sure why so many young people are gramatically wrong when it comes to using I/me. Our teachers are really failing.
Hi Kelsey
Congrats on another season and your adorable little boy!!
I have been a fan since Next Food Network Star. Hubby and I really love your show. I just think you are as cute as a button and I’d trade my niece for you any day! LOL (she is your age but mean)
I would love to see more healthy foods on your show, cooking with more grains, fiber rich foods and low sugar alternatives. God knows I love the goodies but some of us older peeps need to watch our diets, haha! XOXOX
Hi Kelsey!
I would LOVE to see more vegetarian recipes.
