Bouchon Bakery has quickly become a favorite of mine here in NYC. This French-inspired bakery not only dishes out delicious world-famous baked goods, they have the most amazing grilled cheese sandwich in town. I’m commuting from Brooklyn to the Upper West Side every day to spend time with Oliver at the hospital and this has quickly become one of my favorite easy meals to grab near Columbus Circle going to or from the hospital. The fact that it is comfort food at its finest makes this quick meal even more prefect. I’ve been eating a lot of comfort foods lately and admittedly they seem to be helping. There are no diets happening around here these days!

I’ve been trying to nail down what combo of cheeses are sandwiched between the soft white bread. My guess is asiago and white cheddar. The cheesy flavor is sharp, creamy, and a little bit salty. The thick slices of bread are perfectly toasted, yet not too crispy. The tomato soup is a bit tangy and acidic which is right up my alley. Because this soup isn’t too rich, it makes it ideal for dunking. Grilled cheese and tomato soup are quite the combo and tough to beat. Whether it’s comfort food you’re after or a chance to celebrate the unseasonably cool summer temperatures we’ve been having in the city lately – treat yourself to this simple sandwich! Bouchon locations found here.

Also, since we’re discussing grilled cheese, don’t forget about this recipe that is still one of my favorite easy weeknight meals to make. God bless the winning combo of cheddar, bacon, and granny smith apple. It gets me every time.

I am truly addicted to Bouchon. Try their Blueberry Cheesecake Macaron or the Raspberry Yogurt Macaron. To die for! Oh, and since you’re in the area, Payard just opened up at Boradway/58th. In case you need an alternate lunch spot. xo
